  എൻറ്റെ പിതാവ് ശ്രീ പടിപ്പുരയിൽ ചാക്കോസാർ എനിക്കു നൽകിയ പ്രബോധനം അനുസരിച്ചു എൻറ്റെ കുടുംബവീടായ വടക്കടത്തുകാവിലെ പടിപ്പുരയിൽ കുടുംബത്തിൽ കുറേ വർഷങ്ങൾക്കു മുൻപ് സഞ്ചാരിയായ ഒരു സിദ്ധൻ വരികയുണ്ടായിയെന്നും അന്നത്തെ എൻറ്റെ പൂർവ്വ പിതാക്കന്മാരോടുണ്ടായ സൗഹൃദവും അടുപ്പവും മൂലം പിന്നീട്‌ അവിടം വിട്ടുപോകാതെ വർഷങ്ങളോളം ജീവിച്ചു അവിടെത്തന്നെ സമാധിയായിയെന്നുമുള്ള വിവരങ്ങൾ തലമുറകളായി പകർന്നു കിട്ടിയിട്ടുള്ളതാണ്. അങ്ങിനെ പടിപ്പുരയിൽ കുടുംബത്തിലെ ഒരംഗമായിത്തീർന്ന ആ സിദ്ധൻ ഹിന്ദു പുരാണങ്ങളിലും ബൈബിളിലും അഗാധമായ അറിവുള്ളവനായിരുന്നുവെന്നാണ് അറിയുവാൻ കഴിഞ്ഞത്. പക്ഷെ ഈശ്വരസാക്ഷാൽക്കാരത്തിന് മതമല്ല ആവശ്യം മറിച്ചു ഈ പ്രപഞ്ചത്തെ നിയന്ത്രിക്കുന്ന ഈശ്വരചൈതന്യത്തെക്കുറിച്ചുള്ള ബോധമാണ് വേണ്ടത് എന്ന തത്വത്തിലായിരുന്നു സിദ്ധൻറ്റെ വിശ്വാസം. അപ്പോഴും എല്ലാ മതങ്ങളെയും ഒരുപോലെ കാണാനും മതത്തിൻറ്റെ കണ്ണാടിയിൽക്കൂടിയല്ലാതെ വ്യക്തികളെ കാണുവാനും ഇടപെടാനും അദ്ദേഹത്തിന് കഴിഞ്ഞു. പടിപ്പുരയിൽ കുടുംബത്തിൽ ആ കുടുംബത്തിലെ ഒരംഗമായി ജീവിക്കാൻ അദ്ദേഹത്തിൻറ്റെ ഹൈന്ദവ വിശ്വാസം ഒരു വിലങ്ങുതടിയായില്ല. അതുപോലെതന്നെ ക്രൈസ്തവമതവിശ്വാസിക...

The church goers, mostly from middle and lower classes, turned out to be puppets in the hands of the clergy and upper-class members of the church. The question of whether I believe the Bible is a book sent by God for the salvation of mankind has been one I have faced since childhood. I have always known that this question was often posed to test me, especially by religious authorities. Yet, without hesitation, I have always responded firmly.   ഈ ബ്ലോഗ് എന്റെ അമ്പതാം പിറന്നാൾ ദിനത്തിൽ (2003 മെയ്‌ 27) എഴുതിയതാണെങ്കിലും പിന്നീട് പല തവണ പല കൂട്ടിച്ചേർക്കലുകളും നടത്തിയിട്ടുണ്ട്; അഥവാ, നടത്തിക്കൊണ്ടേയിരിക്കുന്നു. ദൈവ സങ്കല്പത്തിൽ എന്തുകൊണ്ട് ഒരു നിലപാടിൽ ഉറച്ചുനിന്നുകൂടായെന്നു ചോദിക്കുന്നവരുണ്ട്. എനിക്കതിനു സാധിക്കുന്നില്ലായെന്നാണ് അവരോട് പറയുവാനുള്ള മറുപടി. ഒരു കാലഘട്ടത്തിൽ അതുവരെയുള്ള അനുഭവങ്ങളുടെ വെളിച്ചത്തിൽ എഴുതിയ കാര്യങ്ങളിൽ മാറ്റങ്ങൾ വരുത്താനുള്ള കാരണത്തെക്കുറിച്ച് എനിക്ക് നല്ല ബോധ്യമുണ്ട്. ഞാൻ ഒരു ഈശ്വര വിശ്വാസിയല്ല; മറിച്ച്, ഈശ്വരാന്വേഷിയാണ്. വിശ്വാസിക്ക് ഒരേ നിലപാടിൽ ഉറച്ചുനിൽക്കാൻ കഴിയും. അവനെ സംബന്ധിച്ചിടത്തോളം വിശ്വാസത്തിന്റെ ബട്ടൺ അമർത്തിക്കഴിഞ്ഞാൽ പിന്നെ വിശ്രമിക്കാം. എന്നാൽ അന്വേഷിക്ക് കലാകാലങ്ങളിലുള്ള അവന്റെ കണ്ടെത്തലുകൾക്കനുസ്സരിച്ച് നിലപാടിൽ മാറ്റം വരുത്തിക്കൊണ്ടേയിരുന്നാലേ അന്വേഷണം മുൻപോട്ടു പോകുകയുള്ളൂ. Even though I originally wrote this blog on my fiftieth birthday (May 27, 2003), I have made several additions over time and continue to do so. Some ask why I cannot hold a firm stance on the concept of God. My response is that I simply cannot. I fully understand why changes occur in my writings, as they reflect my evolving experiences. I am not a theist, in other words, I am not a believer; rather, I am a seeker of God. A believer can remain steadfast in his faith, as for him, pressing the button of faith is enough to find peace. For him that is the end of the learning process. While working as a Teacher in government school, he was also a dedicated activist of the communist movement.
